Pre-Conference Workshop

Writing for Peer Reviewed Journals
The Asian Pacific Weed Science Society and the International Weed Science Society
are sponsoring a pre-conference workshop for graduate students and new
investigators on writing articles for peer reviewed journals. The workshop will be
held on November 26, 2023 in Phuket, Thailand, before the opening of the Asian
Pacific Weed Science Conference. The workshop will address organizing and
writing an article and selection of an appropriate journal to increase the likelihood
of acceptance. The workshop is free but requires registration by September 1
, 2023 and is limited to 20 participants. At least one pre-conference virtual
meeting will be held. Participants are required to bring a laptop or any gadget
to use for revising their work. The workshop will be taught by Drs. Nilda
Roma-Burgos and Carol Mallory-Smith.
EWRS and HRAC Training Workshop @ APWSC 2023

“Confirming and characterizing herbicide resistance”
The EWRS Education & Training Working group and HRAC are organizing a
pre-congress workshop on herbicide resistance before the APWSC 2023 in Phuket
(Thailand). This free half day workshop will introduce students and researchers to
methods and considerations for the identification, sampling, confirmation and
characterization of evolved herbicide resistance in weed populations.
